JIS-Ancol Bridge Groundbreaking Set for End of January

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has confirmed that supporting infrastructure projects for the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) will soon commence.

"So, the groundbreaking for the JIS bridge will take place on January 25,"

He announced that the groundbreaking for the construction of a connecting bridge from Ancol to JIS is scheduled for January 25, 2026.

"So, the groundbreaking for the JIS bridge will take place on January 25," stated Pramono at the former PAM JAYA Meter Building in Pejompongan, Central Jakarta, on Thursday (1/8).

The bridge is expected to improve accessibility for JIS visitors, ease traffic congestion, reduce parking pressure, and better integrate the stadium area with parking and recreational facilities in Ancol.

In addition to the JIS bridge, Pramono also revealed that the dismantling of the long-abandoned monorail pillars is set to begin next Wednesday.

"And next week, with the Prosecutor's Office also present here today, we're set to begin dismantling the monorail pillars. We've scheduled it for Wednesday," he explained.

Pramono assured that the demolition will not cause traffic congestion, as the work will be carried out mostly at night to avoid disrupting morning traffic on Jalan HR Rasuna Said.

"I've also instructed Bina Marga Agency to maximize the demolition work at night so it won't disrupt traffic on Rasuna Said," Pramono added.
